The Citadel's Tau Iota Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, is proud to name
Jennifer Bryant
of
Eastside
High School
as the 2005 South Carolina Spanish Teacher of the Year. On November 15, 2005, an awards ceremony was held at The Citadel to recognize Jennifer Bryant with a plaque, a $400 Dillard's gift card ($200 donated by Dillard's of Charleston, and $200 donated by The Citadel's Tau Iota Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi) and a $40 gift certificate from the Meritage Restaurant in the center of Charleston
The other two finalists, Ruth Agnes Cox of First Baptist Church School, and Diane Kay Schiferl of Dutch Fork High School, were also recognized for their achievements with commemorative plaques. Each finalist and their guests (one guest per finalist) received complimentary lodging the evening of November 15, and breakfast the morning of November 16, courtesy of the Francis Marion Hotel in historic downtown Charleston.
